If you are self-employed and interested in immigrating to Canada, there are dedicated self-employed programs available. To apply for most Canadian immigration streams, it’s crucial to provide evidence of your self-employment. Accepted forms of evidence include articles of incorporation, proof of self-employment income, and documents from third parties indicating the services provided and payment details. To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:
1- Have relevant experience: Possess relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics. In order for your experience to be considered relevant for the Self-employed Persons Program, you must meet the following criteria:
Cultural Activities:
Two one-year periods of self-employment in cultural activities, or
Two one-year periods of participation at a world-class level in cultural activities, or
A combination of one-year period of self-employment and one-year period of participation at a world-class level.
Athletics:
Two one-year periods of self-employment in athletics, or
Two one-year periods of participation at a world-class level in athletics, or
A combination of one-year period of self-employment and one-year period of participation at a world-class level.
The relevant experience must span at least two years, occurring within the five-year period prior to your application and ending on the day the decision is made on your application. Additional points can be awarded for 3, 4, or 5 years of experience in either cultural activities or athletics.
